How to insert link and enter a contest

The steps to link to another blog, are quite easy.

1. Copy the web address to the blog you want to link to
2. Go to your blog. On your blog, write the word "link"
2. Highlight the word "link"
3. Click on the hyperlink tool (It looks like a world with one chain link)
4. In the box that appears, paste the web address to the blog you want to link to and click OK

Now your link is complete. The code will automatically appear on your blog.

If you use a different blog, that is fine. The steps may be a little different, but very similar.

Christmas card designs.

8 New Holiday Card Designs!

I wanted to share some a site that you can find holiday cards to add your pictures in and send out for Christmas. They have Happy Holidays, Happy Hanukkah, Merry Christmas, Be Merry and more. That way there are options for everyone. I know this company offers good print quality, have good prices, and are quick in their turn around time. I love to offer personalized cards created by me specifically for each client, but this year that's not possible. This is a great alternative.

I'd love to hear your comments about these cards.

Taking Photos of Children

I love to take photos of chlidren. You never really know what you're going to get from a shoot until it's over. I can't wait to get back into more photography after my recovery from surgery. Until then, here are some great tips to taking your own children's photos. Take a look at my first article! Then at the bottom of the page, let them know if you liked it!

West Houston Senior Photographer

I am sitting here thinking of some great high school seniors that may want their portraits done before January. If you can wait until January, that would be great. I'll be back in action and ready to shoot. If you can't wait that long, I wanted to give you another option.

Neufelds Creative Imaging does a great job. The photographer is fun, easy to work with, and very creative. http://www.neufeldcreativeimages.com

If you can wait for me, that would be great, but if not here is another great choice in photographers.

David Ziser

I have learned so much as a photographer from this guy. He is easy to understand, practicle, and shares so much on his blog. Digitalprotalk.com
I can't help but share. I attended a Digital ProTalk Seminar and enjoyed it. I know he has a book coming out and I have purchased some of his training DVD's. I'll have to say every penny had been worth it. The impact it made on my photography and sales was wonderful, quick, and the best of anything else I have found so far. If you're interested in taking better pic, check out his page.

Madison 5 months in Lumberton TX

I really wanted to take pictures of Madison at 5 months, but with the no bending adn twisting thing, that was a problem. Thanks to my wonderful family, I was able to help. Dad helped get the site ready, Mom got Madison ready and posed her, and Jesse held my flash. That way all I had to do was run the camera. Here are a few of my favorites.

To smile or not to smile?

Madison laughs and talks and smiles all day. It's hard to get her when she is not happy. This photo day she smiled and played. Then everytime we put her down to take a pic, she got upset. Here are a few unhappy but adorable pics of my Madison.

Ready to take more pics.

So, I made Jesse bring all my camera stuff to Lumberton when he came here. I decided I would have to atleast take the pics of my girls. I can't take them to a studio just yet! It's too much fun to do it myself and I like the quality of my photos better!

Yesterday in WalMart, I say a beautiful pregnant woman. I was so tempted to wip out my card and head her direction, but I'm trying to take it easy and help with the kids as much as possible. I do have a session the Sunday before my surgery. I'll be back in Houston for that. I'm very excited. It's a National Guard who wants pics for his family. More materials for my hero page! Fantastic!!!

Scheduled for Surgery

For a few months to come, my photography will be on hold. I miss it already. Hopefully I will be back to shooting before the doctor thinks. They say January, but I think I'll be better before then. I hope there are still some Seniors left who want pics. I love senior portraits!

I am scheduled for a two-level fusion on September 15th with Dr. Kozak at Texas Orthopedic Hospital. Hopefully this will get me feeling better so I can get back to life with a little less pain and a lot more ability. I am currently at my mom's house. Her and my Dad are helping me with Abigail and Madison until I have the surgery and the 4 months post op that I am not supposed to bend or twist. With a 3 month old and a 17 month old, that is a difficult order, but thankfully I have great help! So many family and friends have been so kind to help out as I have been in so much pain. Thank you so much.

I am not exactly sure which LDR device they will be using, but it will do something like this.

That picture is for only 1 level. I will have 2 fused.

Thank goodness for people to help and modern gadgets.

The IROBOT Roomba to vacuum my floors.

The IROBOT Scooba to mop

You can find great deals online with a little research if you are going to order one. They are so worth it. Since I bought mine my Mom, Grandma, friend Angelique, friend Amber, Aunt, and a few others have purchased one as well. As far as I know, everyone is satisfied with the product.

The Gopher Pick Up & Reaching Tool
This one is a must have. I think everyone with children should have one of these! I use it in the yard, in the house to get things off the floor, and in the house to get things that are too high to reach. It helps so much when it hurts so bad to bend over! I got mine at Walgreens I think.

PS -The product photos and x-ray were not taken by me. They are from variouse web pages.

Great tat

Looks great colorized too!

Another Hero

John will soon be deployed. He leaves two-year-old twins and a beautiful wife. All in the name of freedom. Thank you for your sacrifice. You have a beautiful family.

Hero in more that one way

I invited the Hernandez family back to do some photos in his firefighting gear. It was the first time for his wife and daughter to see him in his gear. I admire firefighters, police officers, EMS, military, and so many others that sacrifice for the good of others. They put their life on the line and then often go unnoticed. I was honored to take a few shots of Julio for my heroes gallery (to be added soon). Not only did we get some shots showing his fire fighting gear, we also got some shots of him being a hero in another way. We got him loving his daughter who adores him. That makes him a double hero in my book. Thanks Julio for all you do.

(PS - His wife is a teacher. Another unsung hero. What a great family!)

Loving parents

Another sucessful shoot at Mary Jo Peckhm park and the Caboose in Katy, Texas. The little girl is my daughter's age, but so quiet and calm. It was a definite change for me. Anyway, the couple came over to view their pics. They were so sweet. Every time a new photo of their daughter came on the screen Dad laughed or awwed or exclaimed that his little girl was the cutest ever. I loved seeing how much he loved his daughter. Mom was just as excited as well. On top of that they chose a great pic of themselves kissing. What a blessed little girl to have such adoring parents that love her and each other dearly. I loved spending time with this family.

Live web page

Yeah! The new web page is live. Thank you Richard and Melanie for coming over and making that happen! I am going to switch some of the pics of me that Richard put on the page and put pics of others. I recently got some great military shots and one of a great tattoo. Those will look better than just pics of me! Anyway, check out the new site and look through the galleries to see some pics. Once I resize the thumbnails in my galleries so they load faster. I'll get to that soon. Happy browsing!

Wow. Thank you Richard!

Today I signed on my email to get a very exciting message. A friend who is a web designer redesigned my page and sent me a preview. I absolutely love it. He helped me some a while back too. I can't wait to get in contact with him and get it up and running! This is so exciting! Wow! What a great day!

To pacify or not to pacify

Mom did not want this cutie to have a pacifier. However, due to big sister's schedule, baby sister had to take pics when she wasn't really in the mood. To appease her we would give her a pacifier count 1, 2, 3. Then we'd take it out and hope to get a shot before she cried. My favorite shot includes the pacifier. At least it's cute and matches the outfit!

Photography problems???

I recieved a hilarious comment about the 9x9 of Madison that I posted 2 days ago. I couldn't help but share! I love people that can think-outside-the-box and keep me laughing.

Here's the email. Enjoy . . .

"Hey niece, it appears you are having trouble getting the entire baby in the picture. I’m no photographer but I think you might try backing away from the little rascal before you push the button.

Seriously, the pictures and the baby are precious.

Thanks,
Jody"

More photos of the beautiful Madison

Taking care of 2 babies takes lots of time! I love it more than I could ever imagine, but I don't get much time to play with photos of my own girls. When working, I process photos for my clients and I want to play with the girls when I'm not working! Due to an eventful week (Jesse's ER visit and my back surgery) my parents came to help with the girls and I got to play with a few photos. Here is a collage of Madison. Enjoy it. I sure do!

Our newest blessing and her loving sister

Castro Anniversary framed photo collages

I ordered some prints and frames for a client. I just received them and am putting together the frames. The 20 x 20 collage of their parents 50th wedding anniversary looks great in the gold frame. The 11x14 collage of the sibling pictures looks great too. How fun to be able to hang your beautiful family on your wall.
