Our newest blessing and her loving sister

Castro Anniversary framed photo collages

I ordered some prints and frames for a client. I just received them and am putting together the frames. The 20 x 20 collage of their parents 50th wedding anniversary looks great in the gold frame. The 11x14 collage of the sibling pictures looks great too. How fun to be able to hang your beautiful family on your wall.

Abigail Easter pics in Brenham bluebonnets

So I never posted the bluebonnet Easter pictures of Abigail. I had a baby in there and got a little distracted from my blog. Here are Abigail’s Easter pictures and a few shots of our newest blessing, Madison.

New ideas inspired by David Ziser

Last night a photographer friend of mine went to a photography seminar at the Westin Galleria in Houston. I had a great time. It was by David Ziser. I was inspired. I am so excited to try out all the new ideas and techniques that I learned (and relearned) at this conference. I also met some great photographers there. We exchanged cards and I can’t wait to build a relationship with them.

Bluebonnets

Today was a beautiful day and very little wind, so I decided to take my daughter for her easter pictures. We were going to go to a local place and not drive toward Brenham. We arrived just at the tractors finished mowing them down. Better luck next time! We will probably aim for Brenham later this week.

50th Wedding Anniversary at Primera Inglasia Bautista and Mirtha's Reception Hall in Pasadena

I just got home from Pasadena. My husband went as my second shooter. Since I have reached that point in my pregnancy when my brain seems to have gone on vacation, I needed the security that he would be there in case I turned stupid. Luckily my brain came with me to this shoot!

A sweet couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. I love to see people who have made it through 50 years. They were so cute together. They were also both so funny. One of the friends of the couple said, "I'll be at the next ceremony after another 50!" The sweet thing was that the couple smiled and laughed commenting on how wonderful it has been to spend a lifetime together.

The ceremony was at a Primeria Inglesia Bautista on E. Houston Street in Pasadena and the reception at Mirtha's Reception Hall on Strawberry. The fajitas were wonderful and the cake beautiful. I look forward to giving them the photos to enjoy. I will post a few on the blog for you to see as well after I get them on the computer. For now, I'm headed to bed.

Studio pictures

I recently met a mom who was so excited to show off some studio prints she received of her children. They had spent lots of money on beautiful dress outfits and the children were so cute. However, the photo they gave the parents made the children look yellow and you could hardly tell what color the dresses were. It was so sad that after all the effort to get the kids dressed, go to the studio, wrestle the kids while you wait, fix their hair 3 times, put on their shoes over and over again, get them all to look in the direction of the camera with a decent expression on their face, and take the picture, that it was not a beautiful print. That mom deserved a beautiful print.

That mom seemed satisfied with the work. I am truly glad she was happy. I hope this doesn’t seem snobby, but after all the work moms put in, they deserve some good prints of their children to help them smile on the not so good days.
