I just got home from Pasadena. My husband went as my second shooter. Since I have reached that point in my pregnancy when my brain seems to have gone on vacation, I needed the security that he would be there in case I turned stupid. Luckily my brain came with me to this shoot!
A sweet couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. I love to see people who have made it through 50 years. They were so cute together. They were also both so funny. One of the friends of the couple said, "I'll be at the next ceremony after another 50!" The sweet thing was that the couple smiled and laughed commenting on how wonderful it has been to spend a lifetime together.
The ceremony was at a Primeria Inglesia Bautista on E. Houston Street in Pasadena and the reception at Mirtha's Reception Hall on Strawberry. The fajitas were wonderful and the cake beautiful. I look forward to giving them the photos to enjoy. I will post a few on the blog for you to see as well after I get them on the computer. For now, I'm headed to bed.

Studio pictures
I recently met a mom who was so excited to show off some studio prints she received of her children. They had spent lots of money on beautiful dress outfits and the children were so cute. However, the photo they gave the parents made the children look yellow and you could hardly tell what color the dresses were. It was so sad that after all the effort to get the kids dressed, go to the studio, wrestle the kids while you wait, fix their hair 3 times, put on their shoes over and over again, get them all to look in the direction of the camera with a decent expression on their face, and take the picture, that it was not a beautiful print. That mom deserved a beautiful print.
That mom seemed satisfied with the work. I am truly glad she was happy. I hope this doesn’t seem snobby, but after all the work moms put in, they deserve some good prints of their children to help them smile on the not so good days.

50th wedding anniversary
I just got an email about a job photographing a 50th wedding anniversary. I am emailing her back to see if it will all work out. I sure hope it does. There is something so special about wedding anniversaries. I photographed my husband's grandparents 60th last year in Beaumont and really enjoyed it. I love to see couples that love each other after 50 or 60 years. It is so sweet to just see that they stuck together and held each other up through good and bad. This one is in Pasadena I think. I can't wait to meet this extrordinary couple. Thanks Amanda for the referral!

More contacts
I'm always looking for new clients and more people working from home while staying with their kids. Here are some blogs and other businesses from TwitterMoms if you are looking for someone other than a photographer.

Family Photos

So, we were going to take family photos of a wife, husband, and 2 beautiful children. Our plan was to walk to the lake close to their house. Unfortunately, it rained. Our plan B was to take some photos using the backdrops set up in their home. However, their house was so beautiful and had so many great photo opportunities. We were able to take some outside under their covered porch, inside on the stairs, in the play room, on the couch, and using their wood floors to showcase their 11 month old crawling. During breaks in the rain we got some outside shots on their swing and other places. That's a fun part of photography. You can have a plan, but with 2 children on a rainey day, you never know what you'll get. The photos came out well and the family looked fantastic in their matching outfits!

Burning down the house

So, I was getting my batteries charged for a shoot and the charger started smoking. My husband quickly unplugged it. It appears that the cord split and exposed wires. Thank goodness we were in the same room or the house could have burnt down. I guess it's time for a new battery.
Also, I have a few more pics of Abigial. I don't want to overload the blog with pics of my daughter, but people are shouting for more! At your request, I will post them here for easy viewing.

Valentines Photos

So I got to take pictures of my favorite subject - my daughter, Abigail. She was not cooperating however and dad stepped in to see what he could do. Luckily he was just wearing a white T-shirt and fit into the picture beautifully. As they played, I took a few shots. I love the ones of them together! The pictures really show how much they love each other. I know they will be greatly cherished by this daddy's girl when she gets older.
